Anabel Pérez-Gómez, PhD, MBA, is COO and Managing Partner at INBISTRA, with more than 20 years of experience in preclinical development, R&D strategy and corporate partnerships. She advises companies and investors on operational strategy and portfolio decisions, and leads ARiDA, an AI platform for biotech analysis and decision support. Before co-founding INBISTRA, she led the scientific coordination team in Drug Discovery at FAES Farma and launched a corporate venture initiative to evaluate early-stage biotech assets. Her international research career includes Scripps Research (USA), Saarland University (Germany), and UPEI (Canada).

In drug development, the most consequential decisions are rarely made with complete information. Portfolio choices require integrating scientific evidence, clinical feasibility, competitive dynamics and business considerations that are often assessed separately and through different lenses. Decision frameworks, analytical tools and practical experience can help translate this complexity into actionable choices, from target and indication selection to resource allocation and development strategy. Opportunities can then be evaluated not only by their potential, but also by their uncertainties, critical risks and the value of the next decision-enabling step, supporting stronger and more resilient biotech portfolios.
